We produce Etronax from a cotton base, thus obtaining outstanding mechanical properties, good durability and low friction.
Etronax is also extremely suitable for machining, which makes it possible to produce just about any type of finished ready-to-install components using Etronax as the construction material.
In addition, Etronax is available in a large number of different qualities, which means that you can always find a type of material that meets your requirements. Certain types of Etronax have a self-lubricating effect, to mention just one of these qualities, and Etronax is generally characterised by being friction-reducing and extremely hard-wearing.
The quality of cotton used for the production of composite materials with mechanical properties is not without importance. We have developed many different types of Etronax, which, amongst other things, are characterised by having different strength properties, and this is where the cotton quality is one of the factors that are crucial for the final result. The finer the cotton, the better the mechanical properties of the final composite material will be.
Cotton quality is determined by thread density. Various cotton qualities are used for the following Etronax types, for example:
Hence Etronax MMMF is the Etronax quality with the best mechanical strength properties. Based on your requirements, you can thus select the quality that best matches your specific purpose.
The cotton quality not only affects the strength properties of the material but also other important mechanical properties such as friction. The finer the cotton, the less friction is caused by the material, which is of great importance in relation to, for example, ball-bearing cages.
By using our Material Finder at the bottom of this page, you can see all the specific properties of our materials, and we are happy to help you find the exact right material.
We produce three types of composite materials with widely different properties. Etronit is based on paper and has good electrotechnical properties and average strength. Etronax, as mentioned above, is based on cotton. Contrary to Etronit, it does not have electrotechnical properties, but it is especially suitable for mechanical applications.
G-Etronax may be easy to confuse with Etronax because of the name, but these materials are as different as night and day. We produce G-Etronax from a glass base. Glass combined with carefully selected resins results in Etronax having outstanding electrotechnical and strength properties, thanks to which the finished material is especially suitable as a construction material in both electrotechnical and mechanical components.
