The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

In 2022, Elektro-Isola was one of the first 50 Danish companies to join the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Through this, we have actively committed us to achieve our CO2 reduction target by 2030.

Elektro-Isola’s SBTi commitment

We have committed us to reducing our CO2 emissions with min. 50% towards 2030, based on our CO2 emissions in 2018.

In 2021, we participated in the project Climate Ready SME, by the Confederation of Danish Industry, where we had our CO2 emissions determined. These calculations were based on the numbers from 2018, and therefore 2018 became the starting point for our commitment.

As we are an SME, we are not obliged via SBTi to require our suppliers to reduce their CO2 emissions. This means that our commitment relates to our CO2 consumption in our in-house supply chain, scope 1 and 2.

Scope 1 is the CO2 emissions that originate from our own combustion of e.g. natural gas. Scope 2 is the indirect emissions, e.g. electricity.
